Newborn pullback session using a beanbag

Xanadu Dummert of Xanadu Dummert Photography was gracious enough to invite me to her spacious studio when she had fellow photographer, Lavay of Lavay's Photography, come over to do a photo shoot with her newborn Charlie. It was great to see the collaboration between the two photographers. I decided to do some pullback shots knowing how much I've learned from viewing other pullback shots.

Here is Xanadu's newborn posing beanbag. The key is to layer the blankets so that it is easy to just pull them back, which means less time is spent setting up.

We then set up the beanbag in front of the backdrop stand and used clamps to secure the blankets to the backdrop stand. Clamps can be easily purchased at a home improvement store. Lavay used an app that played sounds of a heartbeat for white noise to keep baby Charlie asleep.

Finally, Lavay positioned Charlie on the beanbag and wrapped her up tight.

Here is a final edited shot of beautiful Charlie!

Absolutely beautiful picture! It's comforting to know that the needs of the little one (heat etc) are a priority and that you can still get such a stunning result! I think I may have to have a baby so you can photograph him/her!
